Are you an aspiring busker?

Aspiring buskers in Singapore are required to go through an audition to be licensed by the National Arts Council. Those who are successful will obtain a Busking Card (Letter of Endorsement). This is an important step to the start of one's busking journey. Find out more!

Singapore River Buskers' Festival

Did you know that the first Singapore River Buskers' Festival was held along the Singapore River from 15 to 23 November 1997? Busking was first allowed in Singapore in the early 1990s, stopped in 1994, and reintroduced on 1st October 1997 in the lead up to this festival!

Popular street performers with a regular following

There is a vibrant mix of different types of performances by buskers in Singapore, and licenses are issued for buskers who sing, play music, dance, or even for those who practice a craft such as drawing and painting! Younger buskers are also starting to draw more crowds and some have even gained a following on platforms such as social media.
